If I have one message for people it is that we must not wait for others to define who we are. We must know this independently of popular opinion and in knowing we will have the license to be. You are who God says you are and this is why we must search out his description so that we are not placed in a ceremonial box and then placed in storage. Get off the shelf, come out of the box and explore the possibilities of your life. Know that you cannot be confined to temporal knowledge, but must include the teaching of the Spirit. Herein lies freedom. You have to believe that you can fly.

For all of our efforts we still are found wanting. If it were two thousand years ago, we would have excuse for this was the hit and miss formation of the Church. In 2010 we still remain clueless regarding the Kingdom of God, and its Kingdom of Heaven. Our ability to reside there remains enigma. The gospel is meant to be a revolution, not a religion.

We have ascribed to a religious system that bears no resemblance to Christ’s Kingdom and indeed has primarily left it out of the equation, having propped up a system of smoke and mirrors that in no way approaches the revolution of the kingdom. This is not criticism, but wistful melancholy for Christ really had only one message: Repent, the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. That we have not entered in is ridiculous for we have not mastered love.

If I hear one more person identify with Christ through denomination, I swear I will sit down and wail like a baby. We are familiar with the Cross but have never experienced the crucifixion. This means that we need to get up on the cross with Christ, receive the blows, get down, descend into hell, lead captivity captive, talk to doubting Thomas, testify of the experience, then ascend to heaven and sit down at the right hand of the Father. Not because we need to repeat the offering but so that we can get a clue as to its veritable worth. This is so that we might rest in him.

God desires that his family be restored to him in holiness. This is the key message that links the Old Testament to the New Testament, the one that merges into the Superior Covenant. The law was fulfilled so that our legislative rights could be restored. Jesus was the Chief Litigator who won the case.

So then how does that translate into a doctrine that separates? Of course, the infusion of man’s ideas with divinity is an inferior cocktail. We talk about the Holy Spirit but have no evidence of being led by him. Where is our fruit? What would we give to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven? This wisdom is priceless, but it is free and accessible. Somehow we have missed the core of Christ. Our knowledge is boundless, yet deficient. We lack the insight of an infant who instinctively knows that if it cries it will be fed. Yet and still, I remain hopeful …

We, who are otherwise by nature sinners, were through the free mercy of God the Father first chosen from everlasting: then according to that everlasting decree, we were by a certain second creation made his sons in Christ his only begotten, by whose Spirit we are inwardly changed and by whose blood we are also reconciled. The apostle Peter shows by what way we come to that glory, that is, through all types of afflictions.

Wherein nonetheless faith makes us so secure, that we are not overcome with sorrow. But through the beholding of God himself (who otherwise is invisible) with the eyes of faith, we are made unspeakably joyful. Because all such things, as they are but for a time, so are they not applied unto us to destroy us, but as it were by fire to purge us, and to make us perfect that at length we may obtain salvation.
